Late for School

Published by laydecker at 10:37 am under Parenting Edit This

The alarm clock rings but no one hits the button and gets out of bed. About twenty minutes later I wake up in a panic, “We’re Late!” It doesn’t seem to matter what time the kids go to bed, if I don’t wake them up they never hear the alarm. Are they not getting enough sleep? Or do they just not want to get up for school? My daughter sleeps late even on the weekend but my son seems to have an internal alarm. He is up by 8:30 every morning. Unfortunately that isn’t early enough to keep everyone from being late. :( I have an internal clock as well however that seems to be a half hour late so we have to rely on that good old alarm clock. Personally I don’t think the thing rings loud enough. My daughter insists on it being in her room saying she will get up. I agree that she needs to learn to get up to an alarm but I hate waking up with a jolt feeling sick to my stomach because she is late. So how do I get her to start hearing the alarm? I found that if it is on the annoying buzzer instead of the radio that works best. She still doesn’t get up right away but she is getting up before the thing turns itself off.
