Well 12 years old and he is going to a Halloween party tonight. This isn’t the first party he has gone to but this is the first one that they will be listening to real music, not kiddie Alvin and the Chipmunks kind of stuff. There will be real boy girl dancing with hands on hips and arms around necks. My little boy is growing up… :’( I remember how upsetting it was when my oldest daughter went to her first dance. It was such a big deal. The right dress and shoes were the topic for weeks. My son wasn’t nearly the same production but he did want to look good. He had long hair until recently and I don’t know if it was just a coincidence or what but he cut his hair all off and is clean cut now. (Which happened right after he found out about the party I later found out) These parties are kind of a big deal for him because he doesn’t go to public school therefor he is not aloud to go to school dances and things like that. I know ridiculous isn’t it? Any way, this is his big chance to hang out with all of the kids from school at once in a social gathering instead of just one or two friends at a time. I can’t believe he is getting so big. I know this is off topic but I just have to say that after I saw him with his hair cut my jaw dropped. He looked so much older!! He doesn’t have the chubby face any more and you can see that better with all of his hair gone. Any way back to the party.. he is going there and there is a girl that he likes. hmmm. I just don’t think I like that very much but I can’t exactly keep him a small child forever (as much as I’d like to) and I’m going to have to let him do these things. I wonder if he will tell me if he dances with her. I wonder if he will tell me if they hold hands. I hope he feels he can share with me like his sisters do.
